Achievements
Below are some the many achievements of Uganda Gatsby Trust.
- GMFL - delivery of micro-finance services (over Shs. 1 billion disbursed).
- Best exhibitor, Small Scale Industry Category at Uganda International Trade Fairs 1997, 2002.
- To date, established 22 functioning Clubs with over 1,500 members through which demand-driven services are delivered.
- Over 1,000 student attachments and 270 student projects realized.
- 600 members have benefited from local trade fairs and 300 in regional and international trade fairs.
- Jinja Business Units are completed as well as Anchor tenants Warehouse in Mbarara.
- Establishment of semi autonomous Limited Company (Gatsby Uganda Limited) which has already registered outstanding performance.
- UGT has been able to attract other Development Partners like DFID and Kilmo Trust among others.
- 64 scholarship students so far supported, 16 of whom are due to graduate in 2008.
- 15 Club nurseries established in different districts.
- 479,420 eucalyptus seedlings and 223,153 pine seedlings and a number of other grafted fruits sold/ planted.
