UGT was established in 1994 with seed funding from the Gatsby Charitable Foundation (GCF) in the United Kingdom. The Trust has over the years grown both in outreach and programmes.

Background

Uganda Gatsby Trust (UGT) is Non-Governmental Organization based at the Faculty of Technology, Makerere University, whose purpose is to support manufacturing and value adding businesses with the potential to grow.

UGT is governed by a Board of Trustees selected to reflect the representation of the stakeholders in the small-scale sector.

Uganda Gatsby Trust pursues her vision, mission, and purpose through Gatsby Micro Finance Limited (GMFL), a company providing affordable financial services to existing SMEs and Gatsby Uganda Limited (GUL) providing value-added solutions to all sectors.
